The 35th International New Latin American Film Festival opened its doors with a tribute to its founding fathers.
When the International New Latin American Film Festival began on December 3, 1979, the history of a regional cinematography was also having its start, with the seal of imperfection that in those days was a synonym of defiance and authenticity.
After 34 years, the opening of the 35th International New Latin American Film Festival was taking place at Karl Marx Theater without the physical presence of Alfredo Guevara, Pastor Vega, Julio García Espinosa and Gabriel García Márquez, Gabo.
However, the Festival's founding fathers were there through a beautiful and moving documentary by Luis Ernesto Doñas. Based on exhaustive research in archives, this returned to us the glances, gestures and soul of the annual meeting and its significance for the American continent.
